Big Event 2015 – Shake it Up: Fresh Approaches to Volunteering
With the increasing demand for volunteers, volunteer recruitment is one of top 3 challenges local organisations face. What can you do to meet the challenge? Practical ideas and hands-on support will be available at the Big Event. Join us to explore different ways to grow and strengthen your volunteer base, including:
- supported volunteering – involving volunteers with a range of abilities
- successful volunteer recruitment – attracting more volunteers to your organisation
- micro volunteering – understanding what it is and how we can make it happen in East Sussex
- community involvement, good neighbours, community resilience – how does this work? What works locally, what are the barriers and challenges, who can it work for?
The Big Event brings together representatives from local VCS group and key staff and colleagues from the public and private sector for discussion and networking. The event will also feature the Advice Fair with up to 40 stalls, which you can browse to get advice on hands-on support for the voluntary & community sector in East Sussex. In the afternoon, you will be able to choose from a range of master classes, led by experienced facilitators, to explore the topics of the event more in-depth.
The event is tailored to chief executives, senior managers, trustees, volunteer managers and coordinators. The event is free, but booking is essential due to a limited amount of spaces.
